Stranger Things Intro On Electric Guitar Will Remind You of Eddie Munson

With the premiere of season 4, the iconic Stranger Things theme song gets an awesome electric reimagining thanks to musician HIGHTS on TikTok.

Warning: SPOILERS ahead for Stranger Things season 4, volume 2!

The Stranger Things theme song is given a very Eddie Munson reimagining with an electric guitar. In the long-awaited premiere of Stranger Things Season 4, several new characters like Argyle (Eduardo Franco) and Chrissy (Grace Van Dien) are unknowingly dragged into the supernatural mess of the Upside Down. New fan-favorite Eddie Munson, played by Joseph Quinn, is also introduced and, rather unfortunately, is quickly implicated in their murders.

This eccentric new character is introduced as the leader of the Hellfire Club, a Dungeons & Dragons group, and the lead guitar player for his band, Corroded Coffin. Eddie’s bold personality, affinity for metal music and fashion, and interest in D&D have left him a bit of an outcast among his peers. He is only further ostracized by the people of Hawkins when he becomes the prime suspect in a string of murders. Even when faced with unearthly threats, Eddie manages to keep his playful nature and love of metal music. Eddie even performs Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” during “the most metal concert in the history of the world” on his cherished electric guitar to distract the bat-like creatures of the Upside Down.

The music used in Stranger Things has always been memorable, with iconic scenes like Dustin and Suzie’s The NeverEnding Story duet or Will’s continued humming of The Clash’s :”Should I Stay or Should I Go” throughout season 1. This season, however, music has become instrumental to Stranger Things as the characters discover its life-saving ability against Vecna. While searching for answers about the season 4 murders, Robin and Nancy visit Pennhurst victims Asylum and realize that music gives Vecna’s a lifeline back to reality. In Max’s case, it’s Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” that brings her back.

Unfortunately, Eddie was doomed to the same fate as many other beloved Stranger Things characters like Barb, Bob, and Alexei. After ensuring that Dustin was safely back through the gate, Eddie continued to distract the Upside Down creatures to keep them away from Steve, Robin and Nancy while they fought Vecna. This decision resulted in Eddie’s devastating death as he succumbed to his injuries following his battle with the bats in the Upside Down. Although Eddie didn’t face off against Vecna in the same way Max did, something electric or metal, like the above reimagining of the Stranger Things theme, is sure to be what would have been his lifeline if he had.
